Dirk Koman,
Trumpet
Dirk is an active freelance trumpet player, teacher
and band director all over San Diego. His experience includes principal
trumpet of the San Diego Comic Opera Orchestra, an extra with the
San Diego Symphony, San Diego Opera and Chamber Orchestra. Dirk
has performed with orchestras at the Aspen Music festival and played
with the Bolshoi and San Francisco ballet companies. He is brass
choir director at La Jolla Presbyterian church, band director at
USD HS and Marian Catholic High School, helped establish and directed
the Coronado Community Band. A graduate of the New England Conservatory
and USIU School of Performing Arts, Dirk is an Associate Professor
at the University of San Diego, performer, leader and program director
for Young Audiences, Inc. and teaches privately.

Charles Lauer, Trumpet
Charles has performed with the San Diego Symphony,
Opera, Ballet, Starlight Opera, and the Seaport Village Band. He
holds a Master of Music degree from the University of Portland and
played with the Portland Symphony and Brass Quintet for four years.
Charles also toured with the Metropolitan Opera national company
and played with the San Francisco and Bolshoi Ballets when they
were on tour in San Diego. He taught at Lewis and Clark College
and now is the trumpet coach at Mt. Carmel High School.

Steve Rumbold, French Horn
Steve has been musically active in San Diego
and North County since moving to Vista in 1980. In addition to Classic
Brass, Steve has played in the SDSO Summer Pops, the SD Chamber
Orchestra, and numerous musical theater pit orchestras. He is also
a well established musical educator and conductor, currently teaching
at Tri-City Christian School and Mira Costa College in Oceanside.
He has attended the College-Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati,
Ohio, Cal-State Northridge and San Diego State University.

James Prindle, Trombone
One of San Diego's busiest trombonists, Jim has
performed with the San Diego Symphony and Opera, Ballet and Chamber
Orchestras, and musical theater orchestras at the Civic Theater,
the Old Globe and Starlight Bowl. Originally from Spokane, he has
also lived and worked in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Caracas,
Venezuela. He is the low brass clinician for all three Poway high
schools and has taught privately for over twenty-five years. Jim
holds degrees from Gonzaga University and California State University
at Northridge.

Ken Earnest, Tuba
Ken has performed with the San Diego Symphony
and the San Diego Pops, as well as the San Diego Chamber Orchestra,
the Bolshoi Ballet, and the San Francisco Ballet. He is principle
Tuba for the La Jolla Symphony. Ken is also active in various
chamber ensembles including S.O.N.O.R. New Music ensemble and
several brass quintets. Ken is a graduate of the University of
California at San Diego.
